This striking cabin property, situated on a mountain in the picturesque are of Park City, Utah required a mass makeover. It is a ‘ski-in ski-out’ home located at a popular resort, which the owners fell in love with. But the interiors were aged and not ideal, so Studio McGee took on the challenge to completely recreate the whole home.
The client required a cosy cabin look, rather than a sterile contemporary aesthetic, and this was achieved through the addition of sweet accessories, warm wooden floors and maintaining a mass influx of natural light. The kitchen area is gorgeous; the designers at Studio McGee cleverly combined the existing cabinetry with new worktops, splashbacks, lighting and metro tiles cladding the walls, this combination of old and new crafts the desired cosy aesthetic that the homeowners longed for. While the use of dark grout in between the metro tiles – which clad the surrounding walls – gives a modern twist to the cosy scheme.
