Though aligning to a monochromatic scheme, the Printer’s Black finish of this kitchen creates a surprisingly dramatic aesthetic. Within deVol’s Cotes Mills showroom, the company have employed an atmospheric room, rich with history, to house their Shaker kitchen. To ensure the installation was striking enough to suit its location, deVol decided to finish the kitchen in a Painter’s Black coating. The walls, which are painted in a Charleston Grey, from Farrow and Ball, craft a neutral background to ensure the black finish remains the focal point of the space.
A San Simone quartzite worktop tops one end of the island, while the other is occupied by a copper worktop, bringing warmth to the quartzite. The kitchen successfully displays the versatility of the Shaker range by showing it finished in the deeper hue, and including artisan Boho cup handles, Bum stools and Crackle Pendant, which add an interesting eclectic edge to the look.
