Reaching lofty new heights, this shower room is located within the roof extension of a Victorian townhouse renovation, in London. Interior designer Melissa Jenkison, of Heirloom Studio, led the project with the aim to create a bold, contemporary scheme with a touch of period drama – to honour the property’s heritage.
Jenkinson selected a wall-mounted shower, wall-mounted three-hole basin mixer tap and wall-mounted towel rail from The Watermark Collection’s ‘Brooklyn’ collection. Each piece from the collection boasts a striking aged brass finish – this aesthetic walks the line between luxury and industrial tones. Black metro tiles with a high shine finish clad the shower area, sharply offsetting the warm brass shower, while the far right wall boasts a pale grey splashback to pair with the basin and wall-mounted mixer tap, set against a pastel white-grey painted wall. The final touch to the design is a striking gilt-framed antique mirror – matching the brassware’s colouration while subtly referencing the house’s history.
The Brooklyn collection brassware is handmade in its namesake city: Brooklyn, New York. The collection is available in 15 different finishes, including polished nickel, oiled bronze and copper.
