After retiring, these homeowners bought an impressive chateaux-style property in Jersey, that boasts breath-taking views over the bay.
However, the kitchen of this luxurious property, not only lacked lustre, but was located at the rear of the property which shut off the splendid views. In order to remedy this, the owners moved the staircase and replaced the rear wall with an orangery extension – opening the space up to enjoy the natural light and sea views.
Having had their previous kitchen designed by Pam Baker at Martin Moore, the couple turned to the trusted designer once more to create a kitchen scheme for their new property. The clients specifically wanted a soft, cosy and inviting kitchen with a light, coastal feel, while a built-in bar area – for weekend entertaining – was a must!
Inspired by the picturesque setting, the chosen colour palette is soft and natural; from the American Black Walnut island to the aged limestone floor. The Martin Moore New Classic cabinetry meanwhile boasts a painted finish, with rich neutral creams contrasting against the splash of Little Greene’s ‘Bone China’ blue on the full height cupboards, which conceal the fridge and freezer.
The same blue hue finishes the inside of the twin glazed cupboards, highlighting the owners’ china collection. While the sweet, subtle palette is complemented by the kitchen’s Caesarstone ‘Shitake’ and ‘Dreamy Marfil’ worktops.
Three different sink areas, an Aga, built-in ovens, two induction hobs, a duo of dishwashers and a Quooker boiling water tap are the practical finishing touches to this pretty seaside scheme.Martin Moore | martinmoore.com
