Wolverhampton-based bathroom furniture manufacturer, Utopia Bathrooms, continues to grow and invest in people with four new appointments made in the last few months.
James Broomfield has taken the role of Quality and Compliance Manager. His focus will be to guarantee the continued quality finish of Utopia’s products, by ensuring the raw materials Utopia purchase are of the highest standard. He brings 14 years’ experience as quality manager previously at PJH where he was responsible for quality assurance of the sanitaryware and bathroom furniture sold in B&Q, Screwfix and Homebase. James said, “My purpose is to maintain the high standard of quality products Utopia manufacture.”
Jon Britton previously worked for HiB and joins Utopia as Product Manager. He has a wealth of knowledge from five years in product management in the bathroom Industry and over 20 years of buying and marketing experience from well-known companies, Co-op and Tarmac. He will work with the marketing team, designers and engineers to develop new products and ranges, helping Utopia continue as the most valued business partner for its customers. Jon said of his first few weeks, “We have some really exciting projects planned for the year and the marketing team has been strengthened to make these projects a reality. As we design and manufacture our own products, we can respond to changes in the market and help to drive trends within the bathroom industry. I look forward to working with a truly customer focussed team bringing some great ideas to market.”
Dean Allen comes to Utopia from Simpson Strong-Tie with over 20 years’ experience of developing products, including injection mouldings, die castings, sheet metal and fasteners. His role as Product Engineering Manager will involve the implementations of new product development processes and the co-ordination of new projects. Commenting on his first few weeks, Dean said, “I am very much enjoying my time at Utopia, everyone has been very welcoming and helpful. I am looking forward to providing the business with an improved product development system, resulting in more cost effective and innovative solutions.”
Nicola Hardwick joins Utopia as Marketing Manager with over 20 years of experience in website, communications, CRM, social, PR and analytics. Her role covers a wide range of marketing activity with a view to produce inspirational literature to showcase Utopia’s ranges and create an enhanced online customer experience. Speaking of her appointment, she said: “I have had an amazing experience to date having launched a new range through POS and communications and a new retail brochure. Improving the website to help support the growth of this great company while keeping the customer at the heart of all decisions is a major focus for me.”
