It’s time to #ThrowBackThursday to when David Aspinall from Sapphire Spaces won the Ultimate Luxury Bathroom Design of the Year award in 2015.
David Aspinall, director at Sapphire Spaces put an instant wow into this project with the Wing Basin from Falper. He designed a false wall to be built out and fitted with chronotherapy lighting to frame the basin and crate atmosphere.
The free-standing bath by Ashton and Bentley well complimented the wing basin making the duo a real focus point in the bathroom.
It was a tricky project right from the beginning. Due to the age of the house and unusual room dimensions, the design required the whole room to be squared off. This room is also unusual in that it sits above the front entrance/portico so has 3 external walls and an external floor meaning insulation had to be considered.
The resulting bathroom though was considered the pick of a strong crop in the Ultimate Luxury Bathroom Design of the Year award 2015. The client’s views go some way to explaining how the project was such a success saying, “Working with David at Sapphire has been the most amazing experience. Not only is he one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of working with, but each of his designs are breath-taking. David’s evocative creativity at the planning stage of the project left other companies light-years behind.”
David’s mission is to always exceed clients’ expectations by keeping ahead of the design curve. As he states, “I love unlocking the full potential of a space by thinking outside the box and pushing boundaries but the starting point to any good design is understanding exactly what my client has set their heart on.”Sapphire Spaces | sapphirespaces.co.uk
