#ThrowbackThursday to when Darren Morgan won Kitchen Design of the year 2016.

It’s that time of the week again which means only one thing, it’s time to #ThrowBackThursday and this week we are looking back to last year when Darren Morgan celebrated winning the Kitchen Design of the Year (Under £25K).

Darren Morgan, principal designer at Designer Kitchen by Morgan, was presented the award for his exceptional eye for detail and skilled design. The award was presented by award host Gabby Logan and Owain Harrison of Baumatic.

The Client wanted a kitchen that expressed their passion for contemporary design and architecture, asking specifically for a walk-in larder and some casual seating. Whilst they appreciated the ergonomic attributes of high-level units they wanted to exclude them from the design.

Morgan certainly did not disappoint with creating a visual interest that included authentic and soft influences that were a subtle but powerful aesthetic.

Commenting on his thoughts of the industry’s event of the year, Morgan said:

“The Designer Kitchen and Bathroom awards celebrate innovation, creative thinking and problem solving, so if your project has all of these qualities you could be in with a chance of winning.

To be recognised by your peers is a great honour so if you are lucky enough to become a finalist, or even a winner, at the Designer Awards it can be a clear indicator that your work and business values quality and strives to deliver excellence.

Industry recognition can also reward a designer’s passion and dedication to a discipline that has been continually undervalued by the wider design community. It is only though events like the Designer Kitchen and Bathroom Awards that we will continue to showcase the quality of work within our industry, raise the bar and ultimately present KBB design as a serious design influencer.”
