Looking back to the year 2015, there were many up and coming emerging talents in the KB industry.
A big contender was Daniel Porter from DP Interiors. #ThrowbackThursday to when Daniel won the award for New Designer of the year during the 2015 Designer awards.
Having been uninspired by other designers’ ideas for their new kitchen, the clients turned to Daniel Porter of Preston-based DP interiors and set him the challenge to “create something fantastic”.
The house has a large fully equipped utility area so the kitchen could afford to be very much a show kitchen as all cleaning would be done in the utility area. The aim for the kitchen was to offer practical cooking, living and entertaining space but also to offer something unique visually.
Requirements included a downdraft extraction, curved units, a Rayburn, full-height fridge and freezer, a feature glass splashback, multiple lighting levels, dining table seating, patio doors, and larder storage. Porter’s solution utilised the potential obstacles of a brick arched chimney breast, a sloping ceiling from a staircase as well as a narrow entrance and very little natural light. They were turned into features that enhanced the overall design of the space.
It is an accomplished design that over delivered on the client’s expectations with a highly creative solution to a challenging space. Daniel certainly delivered on an eye-catching kitchen that won him the deserved the new designer of the year award 2015.DP Interiors | dpinteriors.co.uk
