Steph Harris, Brand Manager for Showerwall, gives exclusive interview about KBB Birmingham


Every pertinent question about next week’s KBB exhibition is answered by Steph Harris, from Showerwall, in this exclusive interview.

What advice do you have for brands who will be experiencing their first KBB exhibition?

Time flies at a busy exhibition like KBB so try and carve out some time to have a look round. It’s a shame not to as it only comes around once every two years.

How excited are the Showerwall team to be exhibiting at KBB Birmingham this year?

We’re extremely excited as we have such a lot to show and talk about. Showerwall has been given a major re-brand and product overhaul and the new range embraces innovation, technology and trend-led finishes that will bring new impetus to the sector. With our introduction of Proclick installation technology we can now offer seamless joints with no trims between the panels and this opens up new opportunities with the range.

What can visitors expect to see when visiting the Showerwall stand?

The diversity and appeal of our surfacing solutions for the whole bathroom environment including walls, floors and ceilings. Showerwall is the key focus and we’ll be showcasing its major advances in design and new technologies, as well as the distinctive new branding and POS. We now have the largest range of decors on the market which caters for all trends and tastes from luxuriously veined marbles, to earthy stones and shimmering quartz, and from sleek glass-like acrylics to custom-printed designs. Other surfacing products on display are PanelStyle, our PVC wall and ceiling panel collection and Malmo Rigid, a new range of easy-to-fit, water-resistant vinyl flooring that has an in-built underlay.

How has Showerwall noticed the industry evolve over the years?

There has been a shift in perception in favour of using wall panelling in the bathroom over tiles. Consumers and retailers better understand its benefits of easy maintenance and the decorative beauty of large expanses of surface. At the same time the industry has suffered from a skills shortage, so is very receptive to products that ease that problem. Showerwall wins out here because it can be installed without wet trades, by a plumber, joiner or a competent ‘DIYer’.

What makes Showerwall stand out from other competitors?

Drawing on our expertise and access to surfacing materials, we are proud to now have the biggest choice of designs on the market. One of these is Lightning Marble design which features in-line embossed printing technology and this is the first synchronised décor for the bathroom industry. Through it we can combine natural looking aesthetics with the high performance of a man-made material. It achieves a realism in marble like never before. We’ve also put major effort into our re-branding and customer experience of the range. It’s been designed to have distinct collections that help the customer identify their look and make their decision.

Which brands/stands are Showerwall looking forward to checking out at KBB this year and why?

Naturally we’ll be having a look at our peers and what they have to offer, as well as taking an overview of the industry.

Why should people stop by the Showerwall stand next week?

We’ve got all the new designs on display in large format which gives retailers the chance to fully appreciate them. It will be easy to see, feel and understand the strides the range has made. It’s also worthwhile browsing the professional POS package we have for retailers; two sizes of display stand with large samples, swatches, a 66-page lifestyle brochure and an online visualiser to try out the decors.
