We speak to Gordon Dawson of Electrolux about AEG, industry evolution and of course, KBB

What can visitors expect to see when visiting the AEG stand?

This year, we’ve partnered with Optiplan Kitchens to demonstrate our key appliances in real life scenarios. We are displaying our award-winning Mastery Range of kitchen appliances, which is made up of a number of ground-breaking technologies including the ComfortLift® dishwasher, CustomFlex® fridge, ComboHob induction hob and our intuitive ProSteam with SousVide single oven (command wheel controls).

We’re also demonstrating our continued commitment to independent kitchen retailers, by sharing the number of ways we can help to support them as a supplier and how we can continue to evolve our service offering. This includes the unveiling of our innovative new AEG Installer App – an intuitive digital tool to help kitchen installation professionals, as well as providing information on our renowned ‘Master the Art of Taste’ initiative, which we know has increased footfall into Premier Partner showrooms. This is in addition to the AEG 5-year parts and labour warranty which we continue to offer exclusively to our kitchen studio Premier Partners, giving real peace of mind to consumers.

How has AEG noticed the kitchen appliance industry evolve over the years?

We are now a nation of foodies! You only have to look at the growth in people cooking or baking and then sharing their experiences online to see how passionate we now are about the food we eat. We see fantastic consumer interaction when we run our Master the Art of Taste events, with people taking a real interest in how their food is stored, prepared and cooked. This has also borne out in our sales trends, we’ve seen huge growth in AEG steam oven sales over the past 3 years, as people look to create restaurant quality food at home.

What makes AEG stand out from other competitors?

We’re committed to our relationships with retailers and offer a number of benefits of being an AEG Premier Partner including the Premier Partner online portal, AEG 5-year parts and labour warranty, AEG Rewards, fantastic product training facilities and access to experiential events. Combine this with our award-winning Mastery Range, a multi-million pound AEG brand campaign planned for 2018 and you’ll understand why it’s a hugely exciting time to be associated with the brand.

Which brands/stands are AEG looking forward to checking out at KBB this year and why?

It’s always a great opportunity to check out the competition! So, I’m keen to see what products diffrent brands have on their stands.

Why should people stop by the AEG stand next week?

This year, we are set to display some must see products from our Mastery Range of kitchen appliances. We’ve got our Product Of The Year winning AEG SousVide single oven and 9000 series washing machine, along with a sneak peek at some of the fantastic experiential activity we run with our Premier Partners. Come and have a chat with our team on the stand to find out more about our Food Network TV sponsorship, our AEG brand refresh and how we can work together to grow your business.

What advice do you have for brands who will be experiencing their first KBB exhibition?

Enjoy it. It’s an invaluable opportunity to get some ‘live’ feedback from customers and the wider kitchen community. Also, take the chance to walk round the exhibition, talk to other suppliers and look out for best practice across the industry. There will be some fantastic products and stands on show, learn from others and think on ways to improve your business. And wear comfy shoes!
