Smeg’s longest serving employee, Sally Allen, announces her retirement in June!

Smeg, a renowned Italian appliance manufacturer, has announced the retirement of one its most loyal employees, Sally Allen, in June.

Sally has worked at the company for a grand total of 27 years and officially stands as the longest serving member of staff at the brand’s UK headquarters, based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Joining Smeg in 1989 as part of the newly formed Smeg UK subsidiary, Sally was one of the company’s first five employees. Starting as a P.A to the MD, her responsibilities spread over almost every aspect of the business in the company’s early days.

From here, Sally quickly became involved in importing appliances from various Smeg factories in Italy, forecasting and ordering products, as well as developing the brand’s early sales brochures.

Commenting on Sally’s time with the company, managing director, Mike Giddings stated “We’re delighted to be arranging a fitting send off this summer for Sally, one of our respected and valued members of the Smeg family.

“Through decades of hard work, commitment, and devotion, Sally has been valued so highly by all her colleagues. We thank Sally for such loyalty over the years and wish her all the very best for her retirement.”
