In this exclusive interview, MD Neil Clark from Franke UK talks about the stiff competition at KBB Birmingham next week, and what Franke are looking forward to seeing.
What makes Franke stand out from other competitors?
Our strength lies in the depth and breadth of products across all of our brands and the access to quality and design for different segments of the market. Franke’s ethos to ‘Make it Wonderful’ for our retail partners and customers remains as strong as ever and this will be projected through our three brands.
How excited are the Franke team to be exhibiting at KBB Birmingham this year?
Franke has been a committed exhibitor at KBB for many years; it’s an integral part of our trade marketing activity and we are really looking forward to being there. We appreciate the time busy retailers take out of their business, so we have to make it worth their while. I can’t remember a show where we’ve had so much to talk about and I really hope that retailers will come and see for themselves.
What can visitors expect to see when visiting the Franke stand?
We’re bringing our three brands, Franke, KWC and Carron Phoenix, together so there’s a great deal to see.
From Franke, there’s a major expansion of granite sinks in new styles and four new ‘super-metallic’ colours, plus two new grey colours for ceramics. In stainless steel, we will be previewing a stunning range of premium worksurfaces together with a fashionable matt finish on the new Maris undermount sink range. We’ll be showing statement hoods and an array of new coloured finishes and styles in mixer, filter and boiling water taps, which strongly complement our sink offer. KWC is launching a brand new collection of three sink ranges with complementary taps aimed at the luxury sector which we are very excited about, while Carron Phoenix is reaffirming its credentials as a brand that delivers good quality, design and value with several new products on show in addition to the launch of the company’s latest Value Deals offers.
How has Franke noticed the industry evolve over the years?
Retailers have become more demanding – quite rightly – because they live and die by their reputations. Distribution, product quality, innovation and aftersales service are all areas where brands have had to intensify their focus – reputation and loyalty can take years to build, but can be destroyed very quickly if brands become complacent.
Which brands/stands are Franke looking forward to checking out at KBB this year and why?
We always take inspiration from the premium kitchen furniture brands and I see that a number of them will be exhibiting at KBB. It’s always interesting to see their direction with colours, texture and design.
Why should people stop by the Franke stand next week?
We’re showing some truly revolutionary products. The KWC Era sink and tap range will be a game-changer in the luxury segment. The new range of stainless steel worktops will give retailers food for thought and will change their perception of what a stainless steel worktop looks like. And the new super-metallic granite sinks are really beautiful.
