Moores provide brand-new kitchen to the Royal British Legion centre in Little Sutton, Cheshire

Established in 1947, Moores is one of the UK’s leading kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture manufacturers. The established manufactures have been given the opportunity to provide a brand-new kitchen to the Royal British Legion centre in Little Sutton, Cheshire. The new kitchen will allow the multi-purpose centre to once again serve the vibrant community with refreshments and meals after its original kitchen was in need of repair.

After learning about its community fund, the Little Sutton British Legion contacted developers Redrow Homes with an appeal to help with renovations. As a preferred partner and specialist in kitchens for more than 70 years, Moores was selected as the perfect partner to help realise the Little Sutton’s new community kitchen.

Speaking of the new refurb, Sam Mandle, Moores Senior Key Account Manager, said, “The team at the British Legion were really struggling with their very old, falling apart kitchen. They had money from fundraising and donations but only enough to replace carpets and seating. The facility is used by many groups in the community and to keep going and supporting the groups, it needed refurbishing and we of course were happy to assist. The kitchen is now complete and feedback has been very positive, with the aim of re-instating the centre as the hub of the community. We look forward to hearing about its future successes.”

Kathleen Friday, Little Sutton Club President, adds “The club is self-funding and we do not make enough profit for refurbishment. We host many local societies here such as Weight Watchers, Hooton Pigeon Club, allotment, military groups, firemen, the women’s section of the legion and the branch to name just a few, who all rely on us staying open. We also have a concert room which is used for parties and celebrations and so with new people moving in to the area, the club will be a focal point for many more people too. We’ve been reliant on donations and fundraising to replace various parts of the club such as seating and carpets, but something which was in most need of replacement was our 25- year-old kitchen which had no cooker!” The kitchen is looking fantastic and we are so excited. We are now applying for a licence to enable us to prepare and sell food on the premises. Everyone has been absolutely amazing and we are so grateful for Moores’ and Redrow Homes’ support.”
