With KBB Birmingham just around the corner, the Kbsa tells us what we can expect from them during the exhibition and how industry events such as this are vital for business.
How excited are the Kbsa team to be exhibiting at KBB Birmingham this year?
We always look forward to KBB, which is a great platform for meeting with members and potential members; but this year will be an especially exciting year for Kbsa as we are celebrating our 40th anniversary. There is a positive feeling about this year and expectations are that it will be a good show with new product launches and healthy visitor numbers. We are looking forward to the opportunity to showcase the invaluable support we provide.
The Kbsa offers a broad range of support services to its members including business services, such as legal advice, financial advice and insurance. Access to these services alone can save members more than their annual membership so it represents fantastic value for money.
What can visitors expect to see when visiting the Kbsa stand?
The Kbsa will have details of some very special offers. There will be a selection of discounts on memberships and tickets for the annual conference, to mark the 40th anniversary. New retail members could save as much as 40% on the cost of joining the Kbsa and more if they book for the 2018 conference at the same time. Existing members can save up to 50% on a range of special ‘Early Bird’ prices for booking the 2018 conference and awards dinner.
We are also launching a new foundation membership at KBB for new retail businesses, enabling them to access Kbsa support and benefits as they grow their businesses, so we would urge retailers to come and find out more about how this can help them grow and prosper.
How has the Kbsa noticed the industry evolve over the years?
The industry is a dynamic one and always evolving, which is why it is such a great industry to work in. As with other industries, the world of work is much more fast paced than it used to be, everything is wanted immediately and the increasing use of social media has in some ways made it more impersonal. Having the opportunity to meet in person, take time to talk and touch and feel products is therefore very important, making shows like KBB very relevant.
Which brands/stands are the Kbsa looking forward to checking out at KBB this year and why?
The Kbsa team probably won’t have a lot of time to get round all the stands at the show as we will be busy talking with members and potential members on the stand. We do have a lot of our corporate members exhibiting so we will of course be making time to visit them.
Why should people stop by the Kbsa stand next week?
The Kbsa has evolved along with the industry and if people come to talk with us we can show them just how relevant the association is to their business. The special anniversary offers are also not to be missed. A new member joining could save more than one year’s full membership if they take up one of the special joining offers.
All retailers will be facing a challenging year in 2018 and as the only UK trade association truly representing the independent retail sector of the KBB industry, we can offer much needed support and advice.
What advice do you have for brands who will be exhibiting at KBB this year?
Be prepared – working an exhibition like KBB is hard work, but you get out of it what you put in, so our advice is to plan well, maximise all opportunities over the four days and then don’t forget the follow up afterwards.
