Neal Smeathers and David Munro have both joined HPP as IT systems developers and Joe Holland has joined the customer sales team.
Neal (35) previously worked in retail for 18 years, which included management roles. But he wanted a new career in IT and took part in a technology ‘boot camp’ in Manchester to help him learn new digital skills. David Munro has previously worked in internet marketing, insurance and the bus industry. His IT interests include software development such as programming languages and libraries. Joe (24) who has taken up the role of sales administrator, returned to HPP after other customer service roles in the recruitment and air travel industries.
Speaking about his new position, Neal said: “I have a keen interest in software development and related practices. Now with HPP I’m enjoying getting the opportunity to learn new IT skills, which is really important. It’s also good to get involved with HPP from a business perspective and really nice to have a new career with regular hours.”
David said, “My new role with HPP involves implementing new and improving existing systems to enable the business to work more efficiently. HPP seems like a great business to develop a career, with lots of variety and different challenges.”
Speaking about his new position, Joe said: “I picked up some good experience from previous roles but was keen to join HPP to further my career. I’m now part of the team mainly taking trade customers’ orders online, by telephone and email, and also on our trade counter. Looking ahead, I want to progress my career with HPP and would like the opportunity to manage a team of staff in the future.”
