Entry for the Designer Awards closes in just 18 days time and already the online portal has received a multitude of entries!
In anticipation of this year’s closing date, the Designer Awards spoke to last year’s winners, Diane Berry (pictured) (Ultimate Luxury Kitchen Design of the Year), Darren Morgan (Kitchen Design under £25K), and Colin Wong (Bathroom Design under £15K), to hear their thoughts on the industry’s event of the year!

“Winning the design award last year has given me such a lift, it is great for the soul just to know that all the attention to detail and hard work is noticed by the industry. This not only helped me personally but it also allowed this feeling to feed to all the team as they all know I can’t do it without them. Ultimately, this feeling then transfers to clients and this brings us business. People have confidence in us when they see the award and the logos on our emails and advertising.
In this day and age of social media it is essential to have things to talk about and every stage of the process allows you to use social media as a great tool; you can talk about preparing your entry, your excitement to see if the judges like your work, hopefully then being shortlisted, the event, the fingers crossed moment, and then – for a few – the win!
I would strongly recommend everyone enters a category or two as you never know what the judges are looking for and, after all, a win puts you and your business in a win-win position.

“The Designer Kitchen and Bathroom awards celebrate innovation, creative thinking and problem solving, so if your project has all of these qualities you could be in with a chance of winning.
To be recognised by your peers is a great honour so if you are lucky enough to become a finalist, or even a winner, at the Designer Awards it can be a clear indicator that your work and business values quality and strives to deliver excellence.
Industry recognition can also reward a designer’s passion and dedication to a discipline that has been continually undervalued by the wider design community. It is only though events like the Designer Kitchen and Bathroom Awards that we will continue to showcase the quality of work within our industry, raise the bar and ultimately present KBB design as a serious design influencer.
Colin Wong of Development Direct said…
“Having been involved as a finalist, winner and judge, there is no doubt that the Designer Awards’ unparalleled focus on design makes participating all that more meaningful and rewarding.
I have been fortunate enough to work on some amazing projects due to my previous successes at these awards which is a dream for me as a designer”
So if you have a project that oozes innovation, style and something that extra bit special, submit your entry to the Designer Awards’ online portal:
