We spoke to Daniele Brutto of Hub Kitchens about everything from dream designs to TV

What made you choose a career in design?I have always loved technical design and studied product design at university.

What is the bestpart of your job?Being introduced to a new client after a recommendation – this is the absolute foundation of my business.

What is the toughest part of your job?Not being able to convince someone to work with us.

Which have been your favourite projectsso far and why?The projects that take years to complete; when we are involved from the very rst stages of planning and design and we are consulted all the way through. They are my favourite as they are the most successful.

Who or what inspires you? My father. From an Italian immigrant in the 60’s, he’s been through everything, which makes my journey a lot easier.

Current music choices: The new soundtrack to the lm Moonlight is epic.

TV programmesyou never miss: Dragons Den, Match of the Day, Gogglebox.

Favourite place in the world: New Zealand.

Which famous designer (past or present) would you most like to invite round for a cup of tea? Adrian Newey [British Formula One engineer and currently Chief Technical Of cer of the Red Bull Racing Formula One team], so he could tell me what it was like working with so many world- beaters, all of whom basically owed it all to him.

Outside of work, what’s your passion in life? Formula One, I’m a motor sport and car enthusiast and have owned more cars over the years than anything else.

Social media: loveit or loathe it?Some days I love it some days I loathe. Facebook can be so addictive!

Which three words would you use to describe yourself? Passionate, loyal, frank.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? Listen to everyone, there is no-one you cannot
