Sometimes it’s never too late to include a photograph of last year’s Christmas tree and this is such an occasion. The staff and management at surfaces specialists Wilsonart UK have beaten an impressive target of £6000, to raise £6592 for Macmillan Cancer Support during 2016 its 60th year.
To commemorate the company’s 60th anniversary, Wilsonart UK aimed to raise £1000 for every ten years in business.
Activities throughout the year included a 170-mile bike ride undertaken by Wilsonart UK employees and customers from IDS and Benchmarx. Cake sales and bake days throughout the year also helped smash the amazing total.
Rachael Fothergill, charity fundraiser and coordinator for the events said “We wanted to achieve something really impressive to mark our 60th year. Macmillan Cancer Support has touched the lives of several people here at Wilsonart in County Durham so it was a perfect choice. We will shortly be announcing our charity for 2017 with even higher hopes.”
