Launched at kbb Birmingham, The Kitchen Education Trust (TKET) offered a generous full fee scholarship for the Foundation Degree in Kitchen Design at Bucks New University to one student registering their interest at the show,
The opportunity to secure a free place on the degree course generated great interest, and subsequently many entries. The draw for the lucky winner was made by Simon Jones director of the Kitchen Division of BSH and took place recently at the Roundhouse showroom in Wigmore Street, London.

Lucy Chiswell, who works for Yealm Kitchens LTD of Newton Ferrers, Plymouth Devon is the winner of the 2016 scholarship. She will take up her place on the course in September.

Lucy commented, “I am delighted to have won a full fees scholarship and I think the course will push me to higher expectations, and that the skills I have will be solidified and matured. I’m determined that I will execute the course to my best advantage in order to develop and fulfill my aspirations.”

TKET is the link between the kitchen industry and higher education and acts as an intermediary for the kitchen sector in the award of scholarships to successful applicants. All students that are selected for admission to the course are eligible for consideration, and the details of these packages vary according to the individual sponsor.

Through TKET, all stakeholders can contribute to the success of the Foundation Degree course, thus improving the status of kitchen design across the sector.
