Smeg upgrades Line and Classic built-in ovens to include touch screen displays

Smeg has upgraded its Linea and Classic built-in ovens to include touch screen displays and soft close doors. They also now feature pyrolytic cleaning functionality and come complete with a pizza stone accessory.

Both ovens – the Linea SFP4120PZ and Classic SFP4390XPZ – have also been upgraded to an A+ energy rating. The 60cm SFP4120PZ Linea Compact Oven comes with 12 cooking functions and 20 automatic programs. It is available in stainless steel offering an eco-light, quick start and keep warm features, as well as an electronic timer with end of cooking alarm. The oven also includes the ability to defrost by time or weight.

Meanwhile the 45cm SFP4390XPZ Classic Compact Oven (seen here), features the distinctive Eclipse black glass found on all other items in the Classic collection. This offers an opaque appearance when the oven is not in use, hiding all working parts, but transforms once switched on, turning it into a transparent glass door with exceptional visibility when cooking.

The new 45cm compact ovens feature a redesigned LCD display with a larger screen. This includes a model with combination microwave, combination microwave with grill, Smeg’s first 45cm Pyrolytic cleaning oven, and an innovative new steam oven for heathy cooking.

Both ovens come complete with Smeg’s unique PRTX Pizza Stone promising a crisp, stone baked base in just five minutes. The PRTX Pizza Stone is made from a special composite material that absorbs and spreads heat better than ceramic for faster, better flatbread.

When the oven is switched on and comes into contact with the stone, it heats up rapidly to a maximum 350°C – even if the oven’s output is 280°C. It then takes just five minutes to cook the perfect pizza – it can also be left in the oven when not in use.
