Shower designer and manufacturer Roman, has held its annual Macmillan Coffee Morning at the company’s headquarters in County Durham.
Roman holds a coffee morning each year to raise money for Macmillan and as the picture shows, this year’s event was enthusiastically supported by Roman’s staff and guests.
This year Roman held a “Great British Bake Off” style competition, where the staff baked a variety of different sweet treats. Gerry Osborne, chairman of Roman, took the role of Mary Berry and judged the baked goods to pick a winner. The winner received an afternoon tea set with a bottle of Prosecco and the staff got to enjoy the cakes – a win-win event if ever there was one!
It was not only Roman staff at the Macmillan Coffee morning, Roman also invited local suppliers, who brought cakes along and also donated to the worthy cause. Over £200 was raised on the morning for the charity; this will help to go towards providing medical, emotional, practical and financial support for people with cancer.
David Osborne, managing director of Roman, said: “We are a huge supporter of the Macmillan Charity and ensure we hold a coffee morning every year. We always encourage our employees to get involved in campaigns to help raise money for the fantastic and worthy causes and the generosity of our staff makes sure we raise a considerate amount of money over the year.”
