Samsung Electronics Co unveiled its hotly-discussed QuickDrive™ technology at this year’s IFA exhibition in Berlin. Integrated into the heart of the company’s WW8800M washing machine, the innovative QuickDrive technology is said to cut the average duration of a washing machine cycle in half – saving consumer masses of time on this everyday task. Aptly named, the QuickDrive’s Super Speed setting allows for a daily load of laundry to be washed in just 39 minutes, without having to compromise on performance, energy efficiency or fabric care.

“QuickDrive™ is the industry’s game changer, dramatically cutting the amount of time it takes for users to do laundry and giving them more time to enjoy life,” said B.S. Suh, Executive Vice President of the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “The new WW8800M washing machine uses QuickDrive™ technology to provide fast and powerful washing performance, with a range of technologies and smart functionality that make doing laundry so much easier.”

And if halving time was convenient enough, Samsung has integrated a laundry assistant, which can enable consumers to manage laundry finishing times, automatically recommend the optimal washing cycles based on the load’s fabric, colour and state and monitors the wash to give users alerts on potential problems. Practically, the WW8800M model also comes with Samsung’s AddWashTM feature that allows users to add items at any point during the cycle using the small secondary door, while the Digital Inverter technology helps to reduce noise and energy consumption – making the entire cycle seamlessly easy for the user and the environment.
