Rounding up a record year for GROHE – summarising 62 Design Award wins across the globe

2017 saw GROHE, the world’s leading manufacturer of sanitary fittings receive 62 design awards – more than ever before in the company’s history. A star performer in 2017 was the GROHE Blue Home, which won 11 of the 62 design awards. In 2018, this award-winning run continues with a total of 12 awards to date, five of which are for the brand’s innovative water security system, GROHE Sense and GROHE Sense Guard, suggesting the brand is already on track for another record winning year.

In Germany, Grohe won nine awards at the Iconic Awards 2017. GROHE Blue Home, Concetto Professional and the Euphoria 260 head shower received the ‘Best of Best’ Iconic Award in the ‘Product’ category whilst the publication series ‘GROHE Architekturlösungen’, a supplement of the German construction periodical ‘Deutsche BauZeitschrift’, and GROHE’s impressive booth at the 2017 ISH trade fair were also awarded. With its intelligent water security system, GROHE also won over the jury of the German Design Awards last year. The Sense and Sense Guard received two awards in the ‘Building and Elements’ category for its combination of innovative technical features and aesthetic design.

In the United States, GROHE received the prestigious International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) for GROHE Blue Home whilst the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design presented GROHE its Good Design award in the bathroom, kitchen and building materials categories an outstanding eight times.

In Hong Kong, GROHE was able to score at the Design for Asia awards with its Lineare bathroom taps and Concetto Professional kitchen taps. Both products as well as the Sense and Sense Guard also won over the jury of the Good Design Awards, which is awarded by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.

In the United Kingdom, GROHE also accumulated several key industry prizes including two Gold awards at the Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Awards. The judging panel awarded the GROHE AquaSymphony shower system the Innovation in Design prize, while the impressive eco-credentials of the Blue Home still and sparkling water tap took the award for Innovation in Sustainability. The GROHE Sense smart water sensor was also championed in the UK for its quality and design, and recognised as a product that truly benefits the family, at the Loved by Parents Awards. Winning Gold in the Best Household Appliance category and Silver in the Best Safety Product category, the publicly voted awards are a true testament to the products’ outstanding credentials.
