Though having built an impressive status for itself over its 125-year heritage, Poggenpohl’s international reputation has been enhanced further in recent years, thanks to its work on luxury residential developments, worldwide.
Most recently, following its successful collaboration with Porsche, when designing kitchens to equip the Porsche Design Tower, in Miami, in 2017, Poggenpohl has been chosen to supply a series of exclusive kitchen designs for Bangkok’s Sidhorn Tonson project.
Born from the mind of Thai Project Developer, Siam Sidhorn Co Ltd, the Sidhorn Tonson development resides on its namesake street, Tonson Road, near Skytrain Station in downtown Bangkok. The 49 residential units – built over 17 storeys – range between 85 and 140 sq m, with beautiful three-metre high ceilings and light, open floor plans. While, thanks to the use of floor-to-ceiling windows, residents can enjoy expansive views of Lumpini Park.
Fitting to this luxury location, Sidhorn developers turned to Poggenpohl to craft a series of exclusive kitchen designs that would sit seamlessly within each modern apartment. Poggenpohl opted for sand-grey fronts, that blend elegantly into the spatial concept and co-ordinate with the contemporary-yet-warm colour palette of the apartments’ interior design. Open elements and pull-out trays under the solid worktop allow residents versatile use of the kitchen, provide plentiful preparation space and add a dash of character to the clean, chic scheme.
Poggenpohl’s Managing Director, Thomas Kredatus, commented: “It is a great pleasure to be involved in this Siam Sindhorn development project. Poggenpohl has once again been able to demonstrate its competence in terms of craftsmanship, design and logistic competence in Asia. Project business in all its complexity is among our absolute core competencies.”
