The Opus, a 20-storey development in Dubai, will pay homage to Zaha Hadid

Operated by leading hotelier group ME by Melia Hotels, and developed by Omniyat, major hotel and apartment building, The Opus, located in the Burj Khalifa district of Dubai, is itself a memorial to its primary architect – the late Zaha Hadid. Described as ‘a single cube eroded by a free form void’, the building unites two 20-storey structures as a single cube, with a sinuously shaped void acting as the centre.

The interiors also align to a sleek, sinuous theme, thanks to Hadid’s signature style. The capacious monument will include a spa, gymnasium, restaurants, bars and a hotel lobby lounge, alongside a swimming pool, conference and business facilities. The interiors of each residence will be furnished with elements exclusively hand-picked by Hadid herself, making each room act as an individual piece of art.

The innovative design of the central void allows light to pass through the space in the day, while the circumference of it is illuminated during the evenings, to provide a stunning visual centrepiece.
