NKBA announces its Insiders Class of 2018, who’ll scour the globe to uncover new designs

Each of the six ‘Insiders’ were selected by the NKBA for leading the thinking in his or her area of design expertise. Empowering the industry by seeking out and sharing global design insights, the Class of 2018 will travel the world this year, pushing boundaries and fusing global knowledge to positively impact the residential build environment.

“This is such an exciting time for the kitchen and bathroom industry, as we proudly welcome our NKBA Insiders Class of 2018,” said NKBA Executive Vice President of Industry Relations and Chief Strategy Officer, Suzie Williford. “These incredible professionals are doing amazing things for the design world, and, as a team of Insiders, will together bring our members and the industry invaluable insight into the current and future state of residential design.”

“The kitchen and bathroom industry is global,” said Williford. “Our newly elevated Insiders program is just one of many NKBA efforts this year dedicated to connecting with the global design community as we look to empower our members and grow our industry. Our 2018 NKBA Insiders will be scouring the globe to bring back actionable insights and create meaningful relationships with international brands and designers, and I can’t wait to see what they uncover.”

Tasked with a specific design focus, each Insider will travel the globe throughout 2018, before reporting back on findings and areas of opportunity for business growth to brands and designers. Topics were selected by the NKBA in a collaborative effort to focus on those topics of most interest to firm owners and manufacturers as they make critical growth planning decisions for their businesses and plan to navigate the global design market.

The NKBA Insiders Class of 2018 are as follows:

Bob Borson, FAIA, LEED AP, Principal of Michael Malone Architects, who will be investigating design technology.

Bobby Berk, Owner, Bobby Berk Interiors + Design, who goes in search of multi-generational and convertible living spaces.

Stacey Bewkes, Founder of Quintessence, who will be seeking out authentic luxury.

Beth Dotolo, Co-Founder of Pulp Design Studios, who will hunt down artisans and makers.

Grace Jeffers, Owner, Grace Jeffers Design, who goes on a quest for materials and products that benefit health, wellness, and sustainability.

Elle H-Millard, CKD, Industry Relations Manager, National Kitchen & Bath Association, who will investigate the business of design.
