The stream of Swan’s 2017 milestones began with its celebrity collaboration with Fearne Cotton, which produced a highly functional collection of colourful kitchenware and cookware, available in four on-trend pastel colours, entitled the Fearne By Swan range. With many nationwide retailers and E-retailers such as Very, AO, Dixons and Euronics coming on board, sales targets were exceeded by 20%. The partnership also opened a new retail door for Swan, with Next agreeing to stock the collection.
Most crucially, Swan Products Ltd acquired the Swan brand back from the Shop Direct Group, which had acquired it in 2000. An extremely exciting prospect for Swan Products Ltd, the return of the Swan brand ensured that the future of the company and its plans was back in the hands of original employees.
It was also a great year for awards, with Swan celebrating a hat-trick win at Exclusively Housewares. They received an ‘On Trend’ award from the consumer insight company, Scarlet Opus, for a third consecutive year, for the Truffle and Pale Honey colours in the Fearne By Swan range. As well as this, Swan was also proud to return to exhibit at the world’s leading show for consumer electronics and home appliances, IFA.
Rob Wileman, Commercial Director at Swan Products Ltd commented: “2017 has been such a fantastic year. Since 2009 we have been committed to reintroducing the Swan brand in the UK and it is a real joy to be able celebrate and see our vision realised. In the current, unpredictable climate, we are extremely proud to have achieved this and to now be in complete control of future plans and development is extremely exciting. We won’t be taking this for granted though, with exciting launches for both the Fearne By Swan and Retro ranges planned for this year. We are also looking to develop the brand internationally in Canada, USA, Bahrain, South Korea and South Africa, as well as potentially producing some of our products in the UK.”
