Industry giant LG and world-renowed designer Tokujin Yoshioka have together taken the top prize at the Milan Design Week – the Milano Design Award 2017. Considered groundbreaking by the week’s judging panel, the collaborative art installation ‘TOKUJIN YOSHIOKA x LG: S.F_Senses of the Future’ gained the accolade due to the design’s “ability to synthesise the conceptual, technological, narrative and emotional aspects in one single project.”
Choosing to illustrate humanity’s relationship with the natural world, Yoshioka’s large-scale light installation illuminated LG’s human-centric design philosophy while also showing a fantastic consideration for the natural world.
“This is a tremendous honour for us as we are immensely proud of the exhibit we designed for Milano Design week this year”, remarked designer Tokujin Yoshioka.
Noh Chang-ho, head of corporate design at LG Electronics, added “To receive this honour in the design capital of the world is humbling and truly rewarding.”
