Laufen has opened a new showroom in Madrid, with an interior concept designed by Patricia Urquiola.
The context of the new showroom, with an area of almost 200 square meters, is a historic villa from the early 1900s. Organized on two levels, this space is exclusively set aside for architects and designers.
“The idea was to create a space with multiple functionalities, a new kind of showroom, where people can also work.” said Patricia Urquiola “An elegant and strict space with fine materials, like marbles mixed with onyx, glass, resin and oak wood inspired by the materials usually used for the design of bathrooms.”
“Working with international creatives on the highest possible level is constantly bringing new perspectives to our organization,” said Marc Viardot, director of marketing and products at Laufen. “We have embraced the aspirational dialogue with Patricia Urquiola. The findings of this new showroom show the continuous movement of our brand and business”.
Beside inspirational spaces showing the collections of Laufen, there is also a mock-up room where designers and architects can review the status of their actual projects. Two meeting rooms with a material library provide technical information and foster creativity for the professional visitors.
