Dutch development company, InstantAqua, plans to launch what the company claims to be ‘the most revolutionary shower technology in 30 years’ during the 2018 Grand Designs Live exhibition, in London – commencing 5th – 13th May.
The new technology focuses on the principles of stand-alone and ‘plug and play’ showering, and aims to have the electric shower regarded as ‘a work of art’ on the bathroom wall. Completely jarring against other modern electric shower designs, InstantAqua’s Managing Director, Jurgen Verwoert, describes this approach as, “All revealing and unconcealed.”
InstantAqua was founded in 2008 and has been working on the development of the electronic shower system for the past five years. The new system, though stepping away from other modern shower aesthetics, does align to the market’s current desire for app-like technology, with a digital shower mixer and touch display that functions perfectly even when the shower is in use. Playing on this trend aesthetically, also, the controls appear to mimic the look of a smartphone, with each control displayed as a colourful app-like square on the screen. The shower system can also be connected to WiFi, which enables it to exchange information with a computer, tablet or smartphone and record usage statistics and shower preferences.
While the petite proportions of the new system means it can be fitted easily into the bathroom without incurring damage to any walls or ceilings; “You simply replace the existing mixer shower with the Instant Aqua system and enjoy your shower – plug and play. That’s all there is to it,” Verwoert explained.
