Ideal Standard relaunches its high-end design brand Sottini, focusing on simplicity and craftsmanship

Ideal Standard has relaunched its Sottini brand as a high-end design-focused proposition with simplicity and craftsmanship at its core.

Bathroom brand Sottini unveiled its new look at 100% Design recently with an investment that aims to elevate the presence and perception of a name that will be familiar to retailers from its significant sales track record of past years.

The new-look Sottini however has an even greater emphasis on providing products that appeal to the design-conscious consumer. The concept is based around giving customers the creative freedom to ‘curate’ their unique bathroom space. Traditionally, consumers choose a bathroom suite formed from a set of coordinating fittings to give a homogenous look to their bathroom scheme. Sottini aims to turn this concept on its head by offering them more flexibility.

The Sottini collection includes a series of individual pieces that can be mixed and matched to create highly different schemes. Rather than having product ranges, Sottini has created groupings of products with a shared design aesthetic that can be specified together in a multitude of combinations.

The portfolio includes ceramics, brassware, furniture, baths and showering as well as bathroom accessories. The new ceramic collection references the architectural, with the freestanding form of the Ombrone monolith basin, the industrial, with the Gravina freestanding washstand in wood and metal, a playful style with the bucket-like form of the Amusa basin, and geometric style with the squared Turano and rounded Minico WCs.

The range also includes signature baths such as the freestanding curved Piomba and Vipava designs.

Sottini will be sold through a selected distribution network of retailers – eventually expanding to around 150 retail partners – that share the brand’s design philosophy, with a range that will be expanded over time to include additional products from new designers.

The brand re-launch is being supported with new branding, support material and a website that offers creative tools for consumers, retailers and specifiers.
