A recent donation by Hoover of an American-style fridge-freezer to North West children’s charity, Whizz-Kids, helped to raise more than £2,200 in just one night – contributing to the charity’s life-changing work with disabled children.
Hoover donated an American-style Dynamic 4×4 HMN7182W fridge freezer (pictured) to the night’s raffle held by the charity, which provides advice, training and specialised mobility equipment for disabled young people, at its ‘Race Night’ event in Bolton.
Steve Macdonald, marketing director of Hoover’s freestanding division, said: “Whizz-Kidz is an outstanding regional charity that’s committed to transforming the lives of disabled children and young people.
“We were delighted to offer our support by donating one of our appliances for raffle, and in turn, raising well deserved funds for this fantastic cause. Whizz-Kidz changes the life of disabled children overnight, not by providing them with a ‘special luxury item’, but by meeting their basic needs with appropriate provision that they are unable to get anywhere else.”
Ruth Madeley, fundraising coordinator at Whizz-Kidz, commented: “The generous gift enabled us to raise funds to help more disabled children across the UK, to help them have a fun and active childhood – just like any other kid.
“We simply could not continue with our work without the generosity of the general public and organisations like Hoover and we thank them for their support!”Hoover | www.hoover.co.uk
