Following its nomination for the title late last year, manufacturer Vauth Sagel has won the internationally-recognised German Design Award 2018 for its innovative Cornerstone MAXX corner unit.
Honoured as being an ‘outstanding example for German design quality’, the Cornerstone MAXX boasts masses of storage space and pull-out trays that still allow access to the adjacent unit. While the Cornerstone’s sister innovation, Vauth Sagel’s VS ENVI Toolbox has also stood in the spotlight this year, with a duo of design awards – the iF Design Award and the Iconic Award 2018 in the ‘Innovative Interior’ category – under its belt. The highly-rated VS ENVI is an organiser add-on crafted from plastic and easily adaptable by users, allowing them to create a customised storage facility. According to the Iconic Awards’ jury of 500, the ENVI sets new ‘benchmarks in the furnishing industry’.
“We are extremely delighted about these awards,” said CEO Claus Sagel. “They confirm to us that we do more than just focus on functionality that unlocks living spaces and makes everyday life easier; good design is important to us.”
But the story doesn’t stop there for Vauth Sagel’s iconic innovations; both products have been nominated for further design-focussed awards: the ENVI toolbox for the German Innovation Award and the Cornerstone MAXX for the Universal Design Competition 2018.
“The Universal Design Competition nomination represents the recognition of an important aspect of our work,” added Claus Sagel. “We also always look at design and functionality from the universal perspective. What Vauth Sagel develops is designed in such a way that a wide range of different people all over the world can experience the product benefit – without the need for adaptation.”
