The Young Professional Industry Experience is a unique three-week intensive programme where aspiring young designers are given the opportunity to visit and understand all areas of the furniture industry, including materials, designing, manufacturing, pricing, marketing, sales, and customer service.
In June and July this year, 19 companies – including Blum, Howdens, UBM, The Furniture Ombudsman and Axminster Tools & Machinery – will “open their doors” to give young professionals an insight into their businesses, the charity said. Candidates will then attend an event at the Furniture Makers’ Hall in London to give presentations on their experiences.
“The Furniture Makers’ Company is committed to supporting the development of a strong workforce for the future,” said The Furniture Makers’ Company Master, Tony Smart. “The Young Professionals Industry Experience is the ultimate industry-specific continuous professional development course and a unique opportunity that only we can provide through our membership. By putting forward a candidate, you can reward one of your employees and help them become one of the leaders of tomorrow.”
The deadline for entry is the 31st January 2018.The Furniture Makers’ Company | furnituremakers.org.uk
