Chairman of The Sirius Buying Group, Gordon Jones, summarises the company’s 2016

Gordon Jones, chairman for renown electrical appliance buying group, Sirius Buying Group, summarises the company’s year and the events which have shaped the kitchen and bathroom industry.

After impressive double figure growth numbers in 2015, the company certainly had high expectations for the following year. Speaking as head of the company, Gordon Jones commented “2016 has been a marginally better year when compared to 2015: particularly with our members exploring new routes to market.”

Particularly, it would seem Sirius owes a great deal to one of their leading manufacturers, Hoover Candy. Supporting their industry client, Jones remarked “The Hoover Candy Group has been awarded our ‘Manufacturer of the Year Award’. A formidable brand, Hoover Candy has shown tremendous support for The Sirius Buying Group in 2016.”

Addressing the industry as a whole, Gordon stated “There are no clear signs of overall growth in the electrical retail industry, however the market is seeing a greater share apportioned to online purchasing. Some of our members are yet to embrace the opportunities e-commerce has to offer, even on a localised basis.”

Looking forward into 2017, The Sirius Buying Group aims to work closely with members who are new to on-screen purchasing. With the goal to fully educate and support its members, Sirius hopes to reward the effort made with fresh enquiries through the digital marketing route.
