Kitchen appliance manufacturer Candy has announced the launch of Candy Smart, an intelligent connected washing machine range that uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to connect wireless data between the user’s smart phone and their appliance.
The connection is made using NFC technology and the Candy Smart app which allows the user to intuitively configure the correct wash setting using their phone. Once the laundry programme is selected, the user can then simply tap their phone to the machine to connect and begin the wash cycle.
NFC-technology and the Candy Smart app work together to provide the user with information including energy usage reports and health check diagnostic information. It also guides them to the most efficient and cost-effective cycles and provides instant access to the instruction manual.
Steve Macdonald, marketing director of Candy’s freestanding division, said: “Our NFC-enabled Candy Smart range offers a whole host of benefits to consumers and retailers alike. In a showroom environment it has the potential to really stand out, especially if the retailer is able to effectively demonstrate its key features such as voice assistance and programme downloads.
“Consumers are constantly seeking value for money, and the added functionality of this model really sets it apart when comparing it to washing machines in the same price bracket. The user can even download new washing cycles for their machine should they need to – it’s a machine that evolves with the family that uses it.”
The Candy Smart range, which is available now, comes in either 8, 9 or 10kg capacities and all models boast an A+++ energy rating. The models contain 16 wash programmes, including a 59 min full load wash for a fast turnaround time.
All appliances in the range are simple to install, can be operated in the traditional way and come with a free 10-year parts and two-year labour warranty. Retailers interested in finding out more about the Candy Smart range should get in touch with their regional sales manager.
