‘Unique’ is a much over-used word when it comes to reporting on kitchen and bathroom companies but surely a track record of 150 years of manufacturing qualifies for such a description?
The Burbidge company was launched by wood-worker Henry Burbidge in 1867. Fitted kitchens were thin on the ground then and Henry was originally a manufacturer of wood turned sports equipment before expanding into the KBB market in the early 90’s.
To mark its 150th anniversary, Burbidge is launching a new logo which it says denotes a more modern, elegant and bold ethos, and also features a separate special-edition ‘150th anniversary’ tagline for this year only. However, this is just the start of the 150th anniversary activity with more in the pipeline which will see customers, colleagues and other stakeholders, old and new, help celebrate this milestone.
Ben Burbidge, managing director of Burbidge, said: “Our business has reached an incredibly important milestone; very few businesses have been around for as long as we have, and it’s a remarkable achievement. We are proud to be celebrating 150 years of Burbidge – especially as in 2017 we are stronger and more successful than ever.
“We will be marking the company’s anniversary – and future – with a variety of events and activities throughout the year. As a business founded on its design credentials it’s vital that our brand identity reflects our strong contemporary views and business proposition. We are therefore delighted to reveal our bold new logo, putting us in good stead for another 150 years of success.”
