GROHE scores top marks at the German Sustainability Awards
Bathroom and kitchen brassware specialists GROHE has scored a top ranking for the third consecutive year at the German Sustainability Awards 2016, making them one of the most sustainable major companies in Germany.
GROHE was amongst the top three in the same category in 2015, as well as in 2014 for resource efficiency. Its commitment to sustainability is demonstrated through the brand’s uncompromising, integrated approach which covers resource and environmental protection, as well as social responsibility.
“We are proud of our ongoing success at the German Sustainability Awards,” said Michael Rauterkus, CEO of Grohe AG. “It demonstrates that our passion and commitment to sustainability is appreciated outside of our company. By presenting us with this award, the jury of experts has acknowledged the performance of our employees, who are willing to go that extra mile every day in order to meet our high demands made on sustainability.”
The combined heat and power plants installed in the production sites of Hemer and Lahr, as well as the waste recycling ratio of almost 99 percent at all plants, are just two examples of the investments made and the expertise demonstrated by GROHE. This development in GROHE’s sustainability strategy is the basis for the scoring made by the jury of experts.
Amongst the most important innovations of the year is the GROHE Blue Home water system, designed to fit into almost any kitchen space. It delivers filtered and chilled water straight from the tap, with still, medium and sparkling options available and reduces a homeowner’s carbon footprint by more than 60 percent compared to bottled water.
