Small in size but large in potential, Bathroom Brands has identified another niche in the UK’s bathroom sector and launched the Thirty6 brand to make the most of it.
A typical British bathroom is at best six foot square and it does not take too long to make that area feel a tad crowded if standard size baths and ceramics are installed. Ceramic designer Robin Levien recognised this problem several years ago when he developed the Space range for Ideal Standard.
And while some other bathroom product manufacturers have the odd space-saving ceramic or two in its range, the Thirty6 brand has taken this to a new level with the launch of its MyHome range made for typical British bathroom spaces that will allow homeowners to stamp a unique identity in the one room where privacy is assured. MyHome has been designed to make the room feel more spacious whatever the size.”
Roger Cooper (who has previous in this area having worked with Robin Levien on the IS Space range), director for Thirty6, explained: “Photographing bathrooms for brochures or TV requires studio sets far larger than the usual British bathroom. In order to achieve the best from the set design, the physical spaces used never reflect real bathrooms. However, meeting a customer’s expectations in a space only six-foot square can be achieved by innovative product design and clever room planning.”
As an example, super-thin basin rims that mean the washing area of a 50cm basin is as large as a 60cm size. Dual-flush compact toilets that have the shortest projections into the room are matched up with a slim cistern. Mini basin mixers are designed to perfectly match with smaller basins and an Xofill fitting that does away with the need for bath taps, so leaving the bath rim clear of brassware. MyHome also includes a range of compact baths starting at 150cm in length and a range of furniture.
