Beko sponsors Leinster GAA’s new Club Bua ‘better practice’ award scheme initiative

Beko has announced its recent sponsorship of Leinster Gaelic Athletic Association’s new sporting initiative – the Beko Club Bua Awards.

Co-ordinated by Leinster GAA, the new scheme acts as a club accreditation and health check system. The awards, sponsored by Beko, aim to promote best practice on and off the field in the area’s 800 clubs.

In order to win the awards, clubs will be invited to assess themselves online against a set of criteria ranging from a number of Award 1 and Award 2 coaches, including heath awareness, club governance and inclusiveness.

Shane Kelly, head of sales and marketing for Beko Ireland, commented “Beko is delighted to get on board with Leinster GAA and launch the Beko Club Bua awards. The idea of clubs, regardless of size, getting rewarded for best practise is something we wholeheartedly support and look forward to working with Leinster GAA.”

Leinster GAA secretary, Michael Reynolds, added “This new initiative is designed to be a road map for clubs to show their best practise and also recognise the clubs that are leading the way.”

As their prize, the Bua (the Gaeilge for Win) award winners will share a significant prize fund of €85,000 of GAA equipment with other clubs in the area.
