The 2016 winner of the Under £25k Kitchen of the Year Award is Darren Morgan of Designer Kitchen by Morgan. The client wanted a kitchen that expressed their passion for contemporary design and architecture asking specifically for a walk in larder and some casual seating. Whilst they appreciated the ergonomic attributes of high level units they wanted to exclude them from the design. The architecture presented a long and narrow space punctuated by several key entry points and a small room of to one side. The finalists in this category were Alan Drumm of Uncommon Projects and Matthew Smith of the Cheshire Kitchen Company.
The 2016 winner of the Over £25K Kitchen of the Year Award is Alan Drumm of Uncommon Projects. As part of a contemporary extension to their home, our clients commissioned us to design a bespoke kitchen and shelving system that stretched from the basement level, through the kitchen and up to the study located on the first floor. They were clear that they did not want a generic plain white kitchen and were attracted to the warmth and informal character of our work. They did not give us a very prescriptive brief, only defining the kitchen appliances they wanted to incorporate, and were happy for us to come up with a concept we believed would work in the space. The other finalists in this category were Simon Gray of Edmondson Interiors and Darren Morgan of Designer Kitchens by Morgan.
