The new Carmen bathroom collection, from Roca, is comprised of a series of beautiful ‘nostalgic’ designs, reminiscent of original Roca pieces from the 1940s.
Launched in celebration of the company’s centenary, the Carmen collection ‘speaks to the past as well as the future,’ according to the brand. In this essence, the collection boasts striking vintage aesthetics, but balances this with the latest technology, material innovations and seamless functionality. The toilet, in particular, features a rimless body for greater hygiene levels and easier cleaning, and is fitted with a water distributor which improves the model’s flush performance. The seat has also been manufactured using the brand’s exclusive SUPRALIT resin, which is incredibly durable and four times less porous than other often-used materials – again helping increase the toilet’s hygiene standard.
Alongside the close coupled toilets, basin and pedestal, furniture range and mirror, the Carmen collection also features a range of brassware pieces, each of which balance a period-style design with contemporary technology. Carmen brassware boasts the latest generation of flow limiters, which guarantee a flow of five litres per minute, regardless of the system pressure. While the brassware’s in-built ceramic disc operation is coupled with Roca’s own Evershine finish – an electroplating process applied for anticorrosion, lifetime brightness and scratch resistance.
Roca’s UK Managing Director, Alan Dodds, explained: “Over the last few years, the trend for vintage and classical design has continued to grow. From the research we have conducted, vintage means more than just antiques, it is about classic and timeless design that is still relevant today. That is why we have introduced Carmen, it is a collection that is routed in the past but has all the attributes to complement a modern bathroom.”
