British cooking appliance brand, Stoves, has re-opened its community projects fund after being inundated with hundreds of entries from UK charities last year.
Following a successful 2016 competition, receiving over 400 nominations and 11,000 subsequent votes, Stoves are again asking the general public to nominate a charity they feel has had a positive impact within their community.
Launched with the aim of helping local organisations, the Community Kitchens campaign will transform the winning charities’ kitchens by providing £5,000 worth of Stoves cooking appliances.
In January this year the first £5,000 prize was awarded to Moorland Community Centre in Splott, Cardiff. Providing hot food and company for older community members, including serving two courses of freshly prepared and cooked food every lunch time, the charity is a perfect example of the types of nominations Stoves is looking for.
Once the nomination period has closed, a shortlist will be announced and subsequently be put to a public vote. The projects which receive the most votes will then be awarded either bronze, silver or gold prize packages worth between £2,000 and £5,000.Stoves | stoves.co.uk/community-kitchen
