The weather outside is finally starting to feel like spring and to celebrate we’re kicking off our official Pastel Week!
Lovers of moody hues and monochrome tones may want to avert their eyes as this week is going to be about every bright, beautiful and pretty shade in the pastel spectrum. Starting with a sumptuous display of pastel designs, colours and products, we’ll be rounding up the prettiest pastel schemes on the market to inspire your next renovation.
Though sweet, pastel shades can also be notoriously tricky to ‘get right’, so we’re calling in the experts and will be supplying you with some top tips and key advice from colour professionals and designers from across the kitchen and bathroom industry. Then we’ll be topping off the trend with our Friday shopping finds – because there’s nothing like a little retail therapy to kick-start your weekend!
We love this ‘pretty in pink’ shaker-style kitchen scheme from John Lewis of Hungerford [featured]. The wall-hung cabinetry, which is painted in a Flour White perfectly offsets the island’s Blossom Pink finish. Combining neutral and pastel shades like this is a clever way of allowing you to incorporate more eye-catching colours, like the Blossom Pink, without having them dominate your scheme.
The shaker-style cabinetry also works particularly well with the colour palette, as it crafts a very sweet, country-kitchen look. The lower cabinetry, in contrast, which is finished in an Artemisia Beige adds a contemporary twist to the kitchen – meaning it could sit comfortably in either a traditional country home or a more modern abode.
