By getting the tradespeople in for just one week, it is possible to dramatically increase the value of your home, according to new research. The new study, supported by three of the UKs most credible property organisations, highlights a whole host of projects that will take less than a week – meaning they could be done before you’re back from your sunny Easter holiday!
The biggest impact can be made by removing a wall to create an open-plan kitchen-diner, which can add nearly £50,000 to the value of a typical London home. If you live in Dorset or Surrey, investing in new kitchen flooring, worktops, and cabinet doors could increase your property by about £30,000; the same can be achieved by converting an under-stairs cupboard into an extra bathroom. Bundling all of these improvements together could add a healthy £110,000 to your home in just seven days!
“This research is encouraging news for home owners,” said Paula from the HomeOwners Alliance. “Improving your home to make it more enjoyable to live in can also give you a big financial boost when it is time to sell.”
