Kelly Knight, brand marketing manager at Zip Water UK, reveals her thoughts to kb-network on the 2017 Houzz UK Kitchen Survey…

Kitchen renovations are leading to healthier lifestyles – that’s according to the 2017 Houzz UK Kitchen Trends Survey.

The survey of over 3,100 UK homeowners using Houzz, who are in the midst of, are planning, or have recently completed a kitchen renovation project, revealed that more than one third of kitchen updaters reported a healthier lifestyle, post-renovation (35%).

89% of homeowners on Houzz who were undertaking a kitchen renovation invested in, or upgraded, their appliances, while one of the most popular features to replace or upgrade in a kitchen renovation were found to be taps (90%). Furthermore, among those investing in new appliances, 24% choose boiling water taps.

While it’s great that boiling water taps are top of the list of must-have appliances, if more consumers knew that filtered chilled and sparkling water were also available from a tap, demand may be even bigger!

It’s fantastic to see that kitchen renovations are leading to healthier lifestyles, alongside a healthy demand for boiling water taps, but imagine if everyone knew they could get chilled and sparking water too. While boiling water taps have been around for some time, the functionality of having instant filtered boiling, chilled and sparkling water – as well as unfiltered hot and cold – all from one tap, is an innovation still relatively new to the market and something we’re working hard as a company to increase awareness of.

Whether you’re striving to live a healthier lifestyle, or boost the wellbeing of your family, staying hydrated is key – a feat that’s quick and easy with an instant filtered water tap that offers you chilled and sparkling water, as well as boiling.

When you have pure-tasting water on tap, you soon start drinking more and enjoying a host of mental and physical health benefits; from improved concentration, cardiovascular, muscle and joint health, right the way through to keeping your body cool, skin supple and cleansing toxins from the body.

With serious thought and investment going into kitchens appliances and their positive lifestyle impacts, it’s unsurprising to see that more than one in 10 homeowners on Houzz spent over £50K on their kitchen renovation in 2016 (16%) and another 22% spent between £25k and £50k!
