Porcelain manufacturer Porcelanosa has unveiled its new bathroom collection designed in partnership with Zaha Hadid Design. The line is some of the final completed work from international renowned architect Hadid, who died in March this year.
The collection, named ‘Vitae’ (latin for ‘life’), features a wide range of bath and sanitaryware including a bathtub, basins, bathroom shelving and a wall-hung toilet with bidet. Produced for Noken – Porcelanosa’s manufacturing arm – it was first previewed at Milan’s Salone del Mobile in April.
Featuring Zaha’s signature curves and fluid lines that evoke the movement and dynamism of water, the collection was designed to merge practical needs with cutting-edge design. Inspired by seashells and the way water flows through their unique structures, the sleek ceramic pieces are a combination of the subtlety and perfection that characterised Hadid’s designs.
The collection of individually handcrafted pieces won the i-NOVO Design Award from ArchiExpo, and was awarded best design at Salone. It was officially launched in London, during a recent presentation at the Zaha Hadid Design Gallery.
