When setting the scheme don’t underestimate the impact surfaces and tiles can have

Developments in materials have allowed for walls and floors – all too easily undervalued components of kitchen and bathroom designs – to stand out as practical and stylish focal points in their own right.

We’ve rounded up some of the latest on-trend designs to inspire your next project…

Realonda’s 3D Frame tiles (featured), available in a contemporary Antracita hue, present a multi-dimensional shape that plays with the eye, creating an interesting menagerie of shadows and depths. The high shine finish, enhances this effect by encouraging light to bounce off the tiles’ surface, while also adding an air of opulence. Realonda /

Hanex’s Grenicio surface is crafted from the company’s Stratum range of solid surface material. Stratum is extremely versatile and can be cut, shaped, moulded and thermoformed to craft a wall-cladding which will suit any shape bathroom space. In addition to the walls, the material is used here to top a matching vanity unit, which, stylistically, creates a cohesive scheme throughout the bathroom, while its practical qualities of durability and water resistance make it a smart selection as opposed to natural stone. The Hanex selection is comprised of 86 decors and is available from International Decorative Surfaces.
