From Paris’ Maison et Object to Seoul Fashion Week, there aren’t many key design events in the annual calendar that Zaha Hadid’s labels aren’t involved with. The brand’s worldwide influence is now seeping into Milan, as Zaha Hadid Design gets set to take the stage at Salone del Mobile 2018.
Collaborating with some of the world’s most iconic kitchen and bathroom design brands, the Zaha Hadid label, though a hugely influential figure in architecture, is also an icon of 21st century interior design. The 2018 collection from Zaha Hadid Design – which will showcase during Milan Design Week 2018 – conveys Hadid’s ‘unwavering belief in the power of invention in both traditional and contemporary materials,’ stated the company. Inspired by the designer’s signature sinuous aesthetic, fluid lines and subtle, organic geometries, the collection is sure to draw crowds.
The Node basins [featured] – part of the 2018 collection – showcase the studio’s explorations into the relationship between architecture and nature, with fanning tops that subtly flay outwards and reveal concentric rings and ridges – equally reminiscent of the rings of a tree, and, with the resin’s translucent blue finish, the waves of the ocean.
