This month’s Salone del Mobile, International Bathroom exhibition will see French bathroom brand, THG Paris, unveil a trio of exquisite new collections, each from renowned names in the design industry.
The first of the thee new ranges, System, was born from the mind of illustrious artist Arik Levy, who is best known for his sculptures and creative installations which can be viewed in galleries and museums worldwide. Inspired by his belief that the tap is the ‘gem of the bathroom’, Levy’s System collection features an array of precious materials including marble and crystal. Matching its luxurious appearance, the System taps all aim to provide users with a luxurious experience, also; the handles, in particular ‘defy geometries’, adopting a malleable and fluid form that is both comfortable to the touch and is intended to appear reminiscent of the flow of water. The full System collection also includes basin and shower mixers, each of which feature artistic engravings and inlays on the handles and spouts.
Taking a dramatically different approach, the Les Ondes collection, crafted by design duo Dorothée Gilles and Patrick Boissier, is a modern interpretation of classical Parisian designs. Each tap flows out from a multi-faceted base that is inspired by the geometric and polished appearance of cut crystals, while a trident-like handle atop each tap aims to represent Neptune’s iconic trident – ensuring each design presents a strong connection to the sea itself, as recognised by the collection’s name Les Ondes, which translates to ‘wave’.
While the brand’s third and final new bathroom collection was created in collaboration with Stéphanie Coutas. The Montaigne range orbits the theme of transformation and features Coutas’ signature ‘The Grand Antique d’Aubert’ marble which is sourced from the South of France and is used to craft two stylish pillar handles for the mixer taps. The Montaigne collection is also comprised of basin and shower mixers and is available in polished chrome, polished nickel, soft gold, rose gold and black nickel finishes.
